Malta Europe Valletta Harbour Port Mediterranean Sea

It may be a small island, but Malta packs alot into its size.  A Mediterranen gem sitting right in the centre of the Sea, with cool cafe vibes, great archeological sites, secluded bays, medeival citadels and a relaxed atmosphere that is sure to please.

With about 300 days a year of sunshine, crystal clear waters, it is one of the grear dive places of Europe.  Its 7000 year history is pretty extrodinary, and it holds one of the best concentrations of historical sites, with prehistoric, Roman and medieval villages.

Famous for the Knights of St. John (Kignts of Malta)… ruling for 250 years, which has left behind some pretty amazing architecture.  Make sure to check out the museums, which traces its rulers over time, like the Phoenecians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans and the list goes on and on.

You might be a bit surprised to find red letterboxes and phone booths here, as it shows the relics of the British legacy… although with all these rulers in there past, you find true Maltese here and language mixed with English.

Valletta the capital, established in the 1500’s and now an amazing walled city to explore only 1km by 600 metres.  Founded as a “city built by gentlemen for gentlemen”, as UNESCO has also named Valetta a World Heritage Site calling it “one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world”.
